U11's End of Season Summary 2005-2006
The season to us was a great success, we had 6 old faces return from
last year and 6 boys in their first year of cricket. We lost two
games this season and both of them were by less than 10 runs. The
boys always played the game of cricket in good spirit and showed
great sportsmanship throughout the season. I was commended by a
parent from another team on how impressed she was with the way our
team played and behaved on the field. Steve and I hope you all
enjoyed your season of cricket. So again, a fantastic job well done
boys. Here are some statistics for the season.
Batting
With limited batting in the nets, it was great to see that every
player improved in this category. All players made contributions to
the team, especially Pauly, Big Bad Brad and Cookie during the
second half of the season. But a special mention to the boys who
performed on a consistent basis all season. Congratulations to
Nathan who topped the Batting and also scored at an amazing strike
rate of 97. The top five should be very proud of their performances
this season.

Bowling
This was the category which we saw the most improvements. Richard
and Matty who were both new to the game improved tremendously. Both
finished the season with a few wickets in their bag. Pat bowled like
a demon at times. Sammy and Ryan bowled their little hearts out.
Congratulations to the boys who performed week in week out, Pete and
Justin conceded less than three runs per over for the season. Pete
also topped the list for wickets taken this season. Big Bad Brad who
had a slow start to the season was bowling with tremendous pace. It
was a great effort by all.

Steve and I would like to thank all the parents that watched the
games week in week out. It was great to see the support from those
parents, I also think it help with the performance of their child,
so thank-you. Also a special thank-you to John Hamilton who helped
us with the scoring for the season and also for his support towards
the team. Thank-you to all others who helped with the scoring during
the season.
Finally thanks to all the boys for their excellent efforts, I hope
all of you learnt something, but most importantly, I hope you
enjoyed yourselves and hopefully we will see all of you back next
season.
Yours in Cricket

Under 11's Mid Season Report:
It was a nervous start to the season against Coomera, we lost our
first game by nine runs. The boys bounce back the next week and
defeated the same team (Coomera) by 35 runs. Since that first lost
the boys have played brilliantly and are currently undefeated. There
have been some great improvements since the start of the season. A
special mention must be made to the boys who only started playing
cricket this season, Dylan, Patrick, Richard, Matthew, Bradley and
Paul have all performed well. The other boys in the team are all
backing up from last year and have been fantastic leaders. Nathan,
Peter and Justin are leading the batting and bowling averages. Dane
is bowling really well, Sam and Ryan are trying their hearts out and
have shown great improvements. We hope that this form will continue
in the new year.
Enjoy your Cricket,
Tom Taing & Steve Turner
