Broadbeach Robina 4th Grade 2007/08

Playing conditions for this season were changed so that we played 35 overs per side one day games.

The season started off brilliantly beating Burleigh by 8 wickets inside 2 hours. We then won the next 3 games, before losing to Mudgeeraba Blue by 1 wicket.

Two more wins saw the team placed second at 6 and 1. The next five weeks went win, loss, win, loss for a 8 and 4 record heading into xmas.

A wash out first game back was followed by a seven wicket win against Burleigh. Unfortunately we then lost six of the next seven games to just miss out on the finals. Our loses included margins of 1 wicket twice three runs and five runs twice.

Batting highlights for the season were 151 and 72no by Geoff Richter, 79 by Jason Raffin and 51 and 50 by Ben Galbraith.

Bowling highlights were 6/22 and 5/24 by Joel Dunlop and 5/6 and 5/43 by Robbie Hayes.

The main fielding highlight was four catches in an innings by Paul Lambert.

While the season came to a disappointing end, with a little bit of extra luck we could have been in the finals. We did however manage to give games to several promising juniors, which hopefully will benefit themselves and the club in the years to come.
